Dolphins adding wide receiver Cedrick Wilson from Cowboys

Palm Beach Post

The Dolphins are adding shifty and reliable receiver Cedrick Wilson in free agency.

Wilson, 26, had a career-high 45 catches, 602 yards and 6 touchdowns for Dallas in 2021.

Wilson played three seasons for the Cowboys, who drafted him in the sixth round of the 2018 NFL Draft.

Wilson, who played for Boise State, is 6-foot-2, 200 pounds, and can play in the slot or outside.

In Dallas, Wilson took on a larger role last season after injuries to Michael Gallup and Amari Cooper. In a playoff loss to San Francisco, Dak Prescott targeted Wilson 10 times and he snagged five catches for 62 yards.

Now-Dolphins coach Mike McDaniel coached for the 49ers in that game.

Cowboys coach Mike McCarthy has described Wilson as steady, calm and professional.

Wilson has run the 40-yard dash in 4.55 seconds but is said to have good hands, body control and footwork.

A high school quarterback, Wilson is also a good trick-play chess piece.

Wilson's Dad, Cedrick Sr., played seven seasons in the NFL for the 49ers and Steelers.

The Dolphins must feel Wilson will complement Jaylen Waddle and Mike Gesicki very well. Other Miami receivers under contract include DeVante Parker and Lynn Bowden.
